As the last inpatient psychiatric hospital in the state of Oklahoma that solely specializes in child/adolescent inpatient treatment, Willow Crest Hospital/Moccasin Bend Ranch is devoted to maintaining the health and safety of our dedicated staff and our young patients and their families whom we are so honored to serve. Early last month, we began taking precautions against the virus and have continued to revise, increase and implement the following protocols to effectively and pro-actively respond to Covid-19:

 

• Screening all current patients with daily temperature checks.

 

• Screening all new admissions with a symptom/exposure questionnaire and temperature checks.

 

• Screening all staff prior to each shift with a symptom/exposure questionnaire and temperature checks.

 

• Following all doctor recommendations for quarantining staff with possible symptoms/exposure.

 

• Have developed a separate room with negative room pressure that has the capability to safely and effectively quarantine any of our current patients who are exhibiting symptoms.

 

• Face-to-face family therapy sessions have been suspended until further notice to limit exposure to patients and staff. Willow Crest is utilizing teletherapy for all family therapy sessions, and our therapists have incorporated teletherapy into individual treatment sessions for our patients so that they have increased contact with their loved ones.

 

• On-site family visitation has been suspended until further notice. We have increased the number of phone calls our patients get with their loved ones until it is safe to resume on-site visitation.

 

• It is mandatory that all staff working on the unit or in direct contact with patients wear an appropriate mask.

 

• Administration is working closely with local, state and national public health officials such as the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority, Oklahoma Hospital Association, and the Department of Human Services to incorporate the latest recommendations for limiting exposure and ensure patient/staff safety.

 

• Administration is closely monitoring supplies of personal protective equipment to ensure adequate stock to protect staff/patients.

 

• The Plant Operations Team has increased sanitation on all units and high traffic areas following the latest CDC guidelines.
